When I was a child my self esteem took a big hit in school. I was picked on by kids who probably had low self-esteem as well. Reading was challenging for me from elementary school to middle school despite my folks and my oldest brothers best efforts to get me back on track. A child’s confidence decreases over time. By the 5th grade 80 percent of children score low when it comes to believing in themselves. I wrote Pig is Pig to instill confidence and a positive body image to young readers. I hope this book inspires kids to love who they are and to be in awe of what they can accomplish when they elevate their self worth.
