House Sparrow

House Sparrow

passer domesticus

These birds are a frequent visitor to my backyard bird feeder. They are not very colorful but they are full of character. They are playful and curiuos. House Sparrows are meanies towards other birds. They give other young birds the boot and make themselves at home in their stolen nest. House Sparrows were brought from Europe to the U.S in 1850. House Sparrows are not related to any sparrows found in the U.S.
